Living Well With Dementia Groups Northumberland – Royal Voluntary Service

Weekly sessions designed for people with mild to moderate dementia or cognitive impairment. Service users and their carers will be able to participate in a range of stimulating and purposeful activities that promote good physical health and mental wellbeing, such as crafts, cookery, nature-based activities, games, puzzles and gentle exercise sessions whilst maintaining their socialising skills.

Cognitive Stimulation Therapy – a discussion based group designed to be good fun whilst also stimulating and challenging the brain for people with dementia.

Carers participate in the morning sessions. Normal prices are below but at present they are trialing a £10 per couple charge, currently until the end of 2023 when this will be reassessed.

 

Where:              Berwick Youth Hostel, The Granary just off Bridge Street.

When:               Weekly sessions every Monday (except Bank Holidays) 10am – 2pm

Cost:                  £12.50 per session including a 2 course lunch for individuals with dementia.

Carers staying for lunch £5

 

Where:              Cramlington, Beaconhill Community Centre, Langdale Drive  NE23 8EH

                             Weekly sessions every Tuesday 11am – 2pm

When:               Weekly sessions every Thursday 10am – 2pm

Cost:                  £12.50 per session including a 2 course lunch for individuals with dementia.

Carers staying for lunch £5

 

Tea/Coffee and biscuits served on arrival and after lunch
